Gita Chandran

After tragically losing her mother on Mother's Day, Gita Chandran found herself reflecting deeply on their relationship and the little moments she had previously taken for granted. Though not a writer by trade, she was compelled to honor her late mother by immortalizing memories of her in this debut book. It serves as a bittersweet tribute and an important reminder to cherish each moment we have with loved ones before it slips away.

Writing this first book provided a therapeutic outlet for Gita to process her grief. She hopes her story will resonate with and offer comfort to others who have experienced a similar loss of a parent or loved one. Though still a private person at heart, she found the courage to open up and share glimpses into her life as a way to celebrate her beloved mother.

Gita continues to reinvent her way of observing Mother’s Day each year—it will never be quite the same for her again. She writes to bring more meaning and a bit more light for herself and families going through loss.
